At Asili Africa, we take pride in our diverse and sustainable agriculture business. Our projects reflect our commitment to connecting resources directly from the source to buyers. You'll find examples of our work that demonstrate our excellence in the field.

Maize

We Supply Maize to Regional Countries in East Africa. We purchase export grade maize from farmers from all regions of Tanzania. We maintain a continuous supply during season.

Maize is the staple food for the majority of East Africans. Most maize is produced by small-scale farmers and is usually grown under low input, rainfed conditions. It is both a subsistence and a cash crop.

Spices

We deal in cloves, Black pepper, Dried Ginger, Cardamom and cinnamon. Our spices are exported to the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and Egypt.

Avocado

Tanzania is the third largest avocado producer in Africa, after South Africa and Kenya.

Avocado is a relatively new crop that Tanzania started exporting in 2009. As avocados thrive in subtropical climates, and in areas suitable for coffee and tea (Tanzania’s traditional crops), making Tanzania an ideal location for avocado growth.

Asili Africa bring you fresh Avocados from the Southern Highlands of Tanzania!

Pulses, Sesame Seeds, Cashews

We have collection centers throughout Tanzania where we purchase sesame seeds, soya beans, Pigeon peas, Kidney beans, Green moong and Raw Cashew nuts.

Asili Africa also has Auction Licenses to purchase all the above products from Government Auction Centers.

Agro Forestry

Asili Africa traded in Pine wood for local consumption and Regional Countries.

Pine wood from Tanzania is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to decay. It is commonly used for construction, including the manufacture of timber frames, doors, windows, and roofing materials. The wood is also used for making furniture, flooring, and paneling.

Tanzania is a significant producer and exporter of pine wood. The country’s pine forests cover an area of approximately 305,000 hectares, with the majority of the forests located in the eastern and southern regions.

The Tanzanian government encourages the export of pine wood to boost the country’s economy. Pine wood exports from Tanzania include sawn timber, veneers, and plywood. Tanzania exports pine wood to countries such as China, India, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

Coal

The majority of the coal reserves in Tanzania exist along the Songea Karoo belt in Southern Tanzania. Coal fields exist in three regions of the country in Rukwa, Mbeya and the largest in Njombe. The country has total coal reserves of around 1.9bn tonnes with 0.4 billion tonnes of proven reserves.

Contract Farming

Asili Africa has recently embarked on contract farming for products which lack supply.

Current products being worked on are Avocado, Hibiscus, and chamomile while other herbs are in the pipeline.

The biggest challenge currently is the lack of land, water and stable climate around the world. Understanding this, Asili Africa makes the farming experience easier for companies who are willing to outsource their production to create a sustainable supply chain.
